Yesterday, 17 July 2017, at the courthouse of Turin was held the last day of preliminary hearing concerning the inquiry “Scripta Manent”. The decision of judge for preliminary investigation came as no surprise: all suspected were committed for trial.
The trial, for all comrades accused of being part of Informal Anarchist Federation [F.A.I.] — International Revolutionary Front [F.R.I.], will start on November 16^th. For all, except for Giuseppe Lo Turco who asked for the abbreviated trial procedure.
An inquiry, the “Scripta Manent”, which inevitably recalls the “Marini” (1995) one. Only one cauldron of different inquiries, as “Ardire” (Perugia), “Shadow” (Perugia), “Moto” (L’Aquila), “Evoluzione” (Naples).

Il processo, per tutti i compagni accusati di far parte della Federazione Anarchica Informale – Fronte Rivoluzionario Internazionale, inizierà il 16 Novembre prossimo. Tutti tranne per Giuseppe Lo Turco che ha chiesto rito abbreviato.
Un’inchiesta, la “Scripta Manent”, che ricorda molto quella “Marini” (1995). Un solo calderone di varie inchieste come quella “Ardire” (Perugia)”, “Shadow” (Perugia), “Moto” (L’Aquila), “Evoluzione” (Napoli).

The preliminary hearing for the “Scripta Manent” investigation will be held on 11 and 17/18/19/20 of July. I would like to point out that from 3. June five other comrades of Croce Nera Anarchica, myself, the undersigned of RadioAzione, and the comrade who runs RadioAzione [Croatia] (at the hearing of June 26^th it has been decided that she will be tried separately, but still with the same charges), have been added to the comrades already arrested and under investigation.
Looking into the documents relating to the investigation, we have learned that the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Naples had opened in 2012 an investigation against me, against an old comrade accused also in the Marini inquiry, and other comrades from Lazio [Italian region] on the subject of Informal Anarchist Federation.
For five years we have been subjected to a total control, which has resulted in including other comrades in the investigation, including the Croatian comrade of RadioAzione.
Key-logger installed on computer, wiretapping, tailing even for 600 kilometers... Kind of “if I forgot where I put something, I can ask Agent Elena (the name they gave to the key-logger)”.
After five years of fictive control, on 10. January the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Naples demanded an arrest for me, the comrade of RadioAzione[Croatia] and two other Greek comrades (one of which is already imprisoned for C.C.F.).

Nei giorni 11-17-18-19 e 20 luglio si terrà l’udienza preliminare per quanto riguarda l’inchiesta “Scripta Manent”. Ricordo che dal 3 giugno scorso ai compagni già arrestati e indagati sono stati aggiunti altri 5 cinque compagni di Croce Nera Anarchica, il sottoscritto per RadioAzione, e la compagna che curava RadioAzione [Croazia] che nell’udienza del 26 giugno è stata stralciata. Dando uno sguardo agli atti, siamo venuti a conoscenza del fatto che dal 2012 era stata aperta un’indagine da parte della Procura di Napoli su di me, un vecchio compagno imputato anche nell’inchiesta Marini e altri compagni del Lazio per quanto riguarda la Federazione Anarchica Informale.
Per cinque anni abbiamo subito un controllo totale che ha portato ad aggiungere altri compagni nell’inchiesta, tra cui la compagna croata di RadioAzione.

Trentino — We learn from local media that on the night between 6^th and 7^th of June, several masts located on the mount Finonchio were set on fire. Radio and tv (Rai; national public broadcasting company) installation, mobile telephony providers (Telecom, Vodafone and Wind) and few transmitters used for the armed forces communications torched. The damage is considerable, they talk about more than one million euro, and the TV of State didn’t transmit in the entire area for several hours. On the site were found the tags “No more censorship against the comrades in AS2 [high security prison section]. With Fran and with the comrades of Aachen” and “Today we censure you (A)”.

The project: To redeem myself, widening my subversive gaze of revenge and launch a campaign of acts of self-liberation.

Hunted in each tiny movement, with all the maniacal consequences of control that this implies in everyday life in prison where I spend 21 hours a day in a cell, I waited for the last search on 30^th May before acting, and I also made a fool of the jailers during their beating of the bars that day. I spend the hours in the exercise yard between theoretical and practical elaboration, which led me to devise a perfect escape plan, given that limits in the mechanism of control and its sophisticated complexity can be detected, faults that can be traced in all jails, revealing their hidden weaknesses.
In spite of the subjugation they would like to impose on the infallibility they build from totalitarianism and the perfectioning of the prison system, the fact is that there are always spaces for action. A space in the prison that I occupied and liberated from the moment the action began.

That day there was a strong wind and the choice of 1^st May had been dictated by a real tactical calculation, due to the significant shortage of staff following which the guard in charge of monitoring the cameras in the yard was also in charge of opening and closing the entrance to the yard.

On 2 June 2017, the DIGOS [politica police], by order of the Turin Prosecutor’s Office puppet, Roberto M. Sparagna, has launched the notifications against me and against six other anarchist comrades of mine, concerning a new inquiry.
Shortly, it’s about the closing of investigations of a further inquiry parallel to the one named “Scripta Manent”, focusing its attentions on anarchist web-sites RadioAzione, Anarhija.info and Croce Nera Anarchica.

Regarding Croce Nera Anarchica, the paper journal is also targeted, its printing and its distribution, some of its particular texts, and who organized its presentations in Italy.
The charges are for everyone: 270bis (subversive association with purposes of terrorism) in conjunction with the anarchist comrades under investigation in the first part of the OP. Scripta Manent for the same things, and 414 of penal code (criminal solicitation, always with purposes of terrorism), clandestine press, translations of texts, preparation, incitement, defending of criminal acts, conception and spreading through the web-sites and journals of ideological “insurrectionist-armed struggle” propaganda, money rising to support the imprisoned comrades. Furthermore, two of us are charged under the article 280 (attack with purposes of terrorism) for the attack against the courthouse of Civitavecchia, on 12 January 2016 signed by “Pyrotechnical committee for an extraordinary year F.A.I.-F.R.I.”.

On Friday morning, June 2^nd, the DIGOS [political police] notified the closing of investigations for crimes 270bis (subversive association) and 414 (criminal solicitation) to 7 anarchist, 4 of them are editors of Croce Nera Anarchica and other 2 of RadioAzione and Anarhija.info websites, with “aggravating” for terrorist purposes. For 2 of them is added the article 280 (attack with terrorist purpose), regarding an explosive attack signed by FAI/FRI against the courthouse of Civitavecchia.
The notification was not combined with a search and those involved were not arrested.
It seems, from the documents, that these wave of charges, made by the same prosecutor Roberto Maria Sparagna, are an extension of operation Scripta Manent, for which will be held the preliminary hearing at Monday, June 5^th.

A preliminary hearing for the trial in operation “Scripta Manent” will be held on 5^th June 2017 in Turin; the hearing is to decide on various charges, including ‘creation and participation in a subversive association’, several explosive attacks on carabinieri, politicians, journalists and companies involved in the construction of prisons and migrants’ detention centres – all claimed by the Informal Anarchist Federation , as well as instigation to commit a crime and attempting to defend criminal acts following pieces published in Croce Nera Anarchica. There are 15 people on trial, 7 of whom are locked up in AS2 sections in the prisons of Ferrara, Alessandria and Rebibbia. The imprisoned comrades are subjected to constant harassment and further restrictions in the communication between one another and with the outside. In spite of this, they are continuing the struggle against the system of domination and keeping up conflictuality through acts of revolt and contributions to the debate between anarchists and the enemy in authority.

In particular:
-In January 2015, 7 anarchists held in the AS2 unit of Ferrara, following noisy protests and strong confrontations with the guards, were given 15 days’ solitary confinement each in turn.
-In August 2016 anarchist Alfredo Cospito smashed the partition glass between the visiting room and the guards’ room in solidarity with the imprisoned members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire; for this reason he’s soon to get 15 days’ solitary confinement.
-In the days following operation “Scripta Manent”, anarchists Anna Beniamino and Alfredo Cospito went on hunger strike to put an end to isolation and the prohibition for those arrested to see each other.
-In September and October 2016, anarchist Marco Bisesti refused to be subjected to a tuberculosis test on his arrival in the prison, following which he spent a long time in the basement of the Rebibbia prison.
-In November 2016, anarchist Alessandro Mercogliano refused to comply with the identification procedure (photos and fingerprinting) in the prison of Ferrara; he’s just finished serving 15 days in solitary confinement.
-In December 2016, anarchist Marco Bisesti damaged the windows of the screws’ office in the AS2 unit of Ferrara, where he’s being held. Not satisfied, as soon as he was in the cell he destroyed the opaque panels installed on the air vents. He too got 7 days in solitary confinement.
-From 3^rd to 13^th May 2017, anarchist Alfredo Cospito was on hunger strike against censorship, which had become more pressing after the end of the investigation; as a result, practically all incoming and outgoing letters are blocked

We learn that Sandrone [arrested in op. “Scripta Manent”], as a consequences of his refusal to submit to the rituals of identification (photograph and fingerprint) on his arrival in the section AS2 [high security] of Ferrara prison, he was submitted to 15 days of solitary confinement, over the last weeks. The preliminary hearing for the comrades under investigations in operation “Scripta Manent” has been set at June 5^th, in the court of Turin.

A few days ago we published on the website of Croce Nera Anarchica news about the attempted prison escape carried out by Sardinian anarchist comrade Davide Delogu, which ended with the machine-guns of the guards pointed to his face. We learned about this news from the phone call that Davide is making weekly with his family.
Davide informs us that he is in total isolation from May 1^st and, that the article 14bis will be re-applied against him (six months of constant isolation with censorship imposed on his entire correspondence).
This escape attempt — Davide explains in a personal letter to me, with a document attached — is a Direct Action, part of the campaign for self-liberation, which he decided to launch with the act of May 1^st.

É di pochi giorni fa la notizia da noi pubblicata sul sito di Croce Nera Anarchica, del tentativo di evasione messo in atto dal compagno anarchico sardo Davide Delogu, conclusosi con i mitra delle guardie puntati sulla sua faccia. Abbiamo appreso la notizia dalla telefonata che Davide svolge settimanalmente con la sua famiglia.
Davide ci comunica che si trova in isolamento totale dal primo maggio, e che gli verrà applicato nuovamente il 14bis (sei mesi di isolamento costante con l’applicazione della censura su tutta la corrispondenza).
Questo tentativo di evasione, spiega Davide in una lettera personale nei miei confronti a cui ha allegato anche un documento, è una Azione Diretta parte della campagna per l’autoliberazione che ha deciso di lanciare con i fatti il primo maggio.

Siamo Anarchici in galera, chi da anni, chi da meno, e combattiamo quotidianamente la guerra contro la dominazione, faccia a faccia col nemico, dentro le loro gabbie. Conviviamo il rifiuto e il disprezzo, scontrandoci con l’autorità carceraria e il suo disciplinamento sbarrocratico ogni giorno.
Siamo perciò mine che non vagano (per ora...), le cui deflagrazioni, come i fatti recenti e passati insegnano, creano scompiglio, danni materiali e la frantumazione della logica carceraria (che in quanto anarchici è già stata demolita!). Trasmettendo certamente importanti stimoli vitali d’azione all’interno di una complessa palude desolante, per viversi la propria anarchia, qui, ora, subito!

On May 3^th, the anarchist Alfredo Cospito — prisoner in high security regime AS2 of Ferrara prison for the kneecapping of Adinolfi, CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare, and recently recipient of another arrest warrant for the operation “scripta manent” — started a ten-days hunger strike against the censorship that blocks most of his incoming and outgoing correspondence. Alfredo is asking comrades to send lot of books, magazines, letters to support his hunger strike and break the isolation dictated by prison censorship.
The prosecutor Sparagna from Turin is imposing the censor against the comrades imprisoned for operation “scripta manent”. In the last few months the censorship has become more stringent, and a lot of correspondence is systematically censored and blocked; books, magazines and any kind of stuff sent him almost never reach the destination. The censor struck also a text that Alfredo sent us in December, to be published in “Vetriolo”. In the same way an Anna’s text, for another publication, was seized in January. At the same time, not one single copy of our journal reached Alfredo and other prisoners: seized by guards, or frequently simply disappeared.
It is clear that if isolation against comrades becomes more intense and so pressing is also, and above all, because of the censorship and the blocking of correspondence. It is clear that the power can not tolerate that comrades contribute to the discussion between rebellious and enemies of authority. The miserable work of spying and the censorship are systematically intensified because the power presumes and imagines that it can annihilates and silences the anarchists in its prisons.

A text that sums up the ideas expressed during the meetings ‘With our heads held high’

State repression is the most important part of the system of dominion and one of its most disgraceful expressions; it doesn’t surprise us that those who are struck most are historically those who don’t let themselves be recuperated by the system of power, i.e. anarchist, revolutionary and rebel individualities.
The latter respond to the physical, psychological, moral, social and economic repression unleashed by all the components of democratic power and to the brutal indiscriminate violence of its armed hands and the judiciary. This they do with direct action aimed at those responsible for repression, with the creative and liberating destruction of the places of dominion and the sabotage of its infrastructures, so as to put an end, or at least hamper, the causes of exploitation and oppression by human beings on other human beings, the earth and animals.
In the view of total liberation, to passively watch the reproduction of dominion means to be accomplices, so there are those who continue to hold their heads high and rebel.
As a consequence power puts all its strategies into action, and the trials and proceedings against comrades for actions, episodes of conflictuality and writings still continue. Next month there will be the cassation trial concerning so-called operation Shadow, where a number of comrades are accused, among other things, of instigation to commit a crime following the publication of the paper KNO3.
These judicial proceedings are an expression of the war that the authorities are waging on the bond between thought and action, which is the foundation of anarchism’s dangerousness. Beyond individual and specific struggles, this police operation aims at striking the cardinal concepts of antiauthoritarian ideas and methods such as direct action, refusal of delegating and solidarity.
Starting from these reflexions, during the meetings that developed after the arrests of operation Scripta Manent, rather than dwell on the strategies of repression, we felt it necessary to not reduce solidarity to the technical support of those who are in prison, but to widen the spectrum of our analysis.

From a letter received yesterday, May 4^th 2017, we learn that the hunger strike carried on from May 3^rd, which will go on for 10 days, following the heavy censorship, is a result of an extended period and of continual block of most incoming and outgoing letters, books, news etc. sent him by so many comrades.
Especially, he writes, the letters sent him from one of us, editors of C.N.A. [Anarchist Black Cross], have all been blocked, 7 out of 7, in the last month.
In this letter of just few lines it is highlighted that the censorship has already been extended for another three months more than a month ago, but it started to hammering heavier than usual after the investigation has been closed.
From what he says, also in this letter, in Rebibbia [prison in Rome] is even worse.

He concludes the letter with a shout: “BREAK THE ISOLATION!”

Today anarchist prisoner Alfredo Cospito begins a ten-days hunger strike against the censorship imposed to him by prosecutor Sparagna [in charge of op. “Scripta Manent”], which blocks almost the whole incoming and outgoing correspondence.

Alfredo asks all comrades outside to send books, magazines, letters and printed materials in general, in protest and in support of his strike.

A couple of week ago the investigations concerning the op. Scripta Manent were closed, so now the preliminary hearing is awaited, when the judge will decide whether to put on trial the suspected comrades.

SCRIPTA MANENT

The prosecution in Turin have decided to put an entire anarchist tendency on trial: anti-organisation Anarchism. This isn’t a sensationalist and defensive overstatement, it’s what Turin’s investigating judge, Anna Ricci, enacted with the arrest warrants issued in July 2016, and enforced in September, probably to avoid disrupting the summer holidays of some pubic official.
The inquisitors’ choice is clear from the ridiculous framework that appeared in the arrest warrant papers, a product of the deleterious encounter between the mind of some cop and the rushed reading of a wikipedia summary. The framework gives shape to a repressive-Manichean vision of a ‘social anarchy’, a good and harmless one, and an (anti-social and anti-classist) ‘individual anarchy’, violent and palatable to repression, whose method is the ‘anti-organization model’.
By making the necessary distinctions, this framework aims to define a specific camp, to create a cage, so that from a generic ‘insurrectionism’, (a sub-product of the anti-organization model), always violent and liable to punishment to varying degrees, sub-species can be pulled out to form different strands of the investigation[1] for Italian cops: ‘classic insurrectionism’, ‘social insurrectionism’, ‘eco insurrectionism’ and the ‘informal anarchist federation’.
