Czech Republic: What is Fénix 2 about [en]

In April 2015, first accusations appeared and first part of Fénix started. In March 2018, Higher court in Prague dropped all the charges for all people involved in the case. Meanwhile, the second part of Fénix arrised and this article explains, what is it about.

From first to the second part

When the police started operation Fénix, some media claimed, that SRB Network of Revolutionary Cells was scattered. Yet sabotages and arson attacks continued and the amount of them raised. Soon, it became obvious, that it’s going to be hard to connect accused people with those activities, so the police started to “investigate”.

Czech Republic: “Kronika odporu” – new anarchist counter-information project [en]

Chronicle of Resistance

For a long time, we hesitated how we would take the word. First of all, we have led discussions that have allowed us to understand what we have. Then we set up this site kronika.noblogs.org about global anarchist practice. That’s what we missed here, and that makes sense to us.

There are many important topics and we do not have the capacity to do it with everyone. We will try to bring at least some information about attacks, campaigns, projects, communiqués ... about living anarchist practices.

Czech Republic: High court in Prague confirmed acquittance of all defendants on March 27th [en]

High court in Prague confirmed acquittance of all 5 anarchist defendants as result of appeal hearing on the 27th of March.

These are good news for sure and it also means that we overcame some part of “Fénix”, which meant something different to all of us: long months in prison, deprivation of anonymity or exhausting solidarity campaign, to put it shortly. Nevertheless, we shouldn’t make illusions about winning against repressions legally in courts, ever. Also High court’s decision doesn’t bring any kind of certainty for future, and already now we can see the top of other pile of police shit coming over horizon or even closer, a.k.a. Fénix 2, which literally is desperate attempt for revanche, an effort to get something against our comrades and restore a bit stinking idea of legitimacy of police and prisons, in czech context at least.

Czech Republic: How long will last the exploitation of prisoners by the police and courts? [en]

If there’s somebody forced to work for somebody else under the threat of violence, it’s something that we usually call enslavement or exploitation. However, if Czech police and courts use this practice, they call it differently: preparation of the convicted for their jobs and helping the state. There’s no point in arguing about appropriate words, where it’s obvious that the state institutions are committing organized crime on the prisoners. The point is to make these crimes stop.

To make clear what crimes I’m talking about, I’ll first give the word to the officials of Všehrdy prison. On the prison website they write: ”With the end of the year approaching, we would like to inform our fellow citizens about the fact, that the prisoners from Všehrdy prison have participated in recovery of the property of different state and municipal institutions in our region during the whole year completely free of charge, in the form of the so-called extramural working activities. …(…)… They, for example, painted the administrative building of shooting range for the Police of Czech Republic, fixed the terrain around the shooting range, removed the invasive trees, repaired and built new target equipment and pruned trees around the driveway. They facilitated moving of the police school and moving and assembling the furniture for the Police of Teplice. And, like in the last year, they painted the area of the District court in Chomutov and moved the furniture.”

Repressions in so-called Czech republic. Timeline A2 poster [en]

Police repressions and surveilance targeting against anti-authoritarian and subversive movements had always been present. In past years we experienced them of an unprecedented scale of Czech context and history, including entrapment, terrorist charges, large media demonization, attempts of dividing the movement, spreading paranoia, imprisonment and long exhausting court hearings. „Operation Fénix“, as police name for the entrapment operation that had taken place, is relavant to other similar crackdowns in European and north American context. Especially because of divide-and-rule tactic that status quo has in the very heart of its meanings and goals. We hope to have this to understand our experience better to know what to expect in the place where you live and organize.

Czech Republic: Call to Fight — Sabotage the Activities of Those Bastards! (11/2017) [en]

We see that the repressive campaign on the anarchist movement does not cease. Examples are enough: The operation Fénix case in the Czech Republic, the case of the Warsaw Three, charges of bank robbery in Aachen, courts with rebels against the G20 summit in Hamburg and other cases.

Cops, judges, prosecutors, mass-media. They are haunted, imprisoned, robbed, manipulated. This is a challenge to all Revolutionary cells and other groups and individuals. Sabotage the activities of those bastards. Turn them into terrain, technology and structures. Organize resistance. Support the fugitives and their loved ones.

Czech Republic: Lukáš Borl — All power to the imagination? (12/11/2017) [en]

When extensive strikes and workers’ and students’ riots took place in France at 1968, one of the slogans back then was “All power to the imagination”. Czech police and courts now have their own interpretation. They assert their authority through fostering their own imagination.

When police wanted the arrest warrant on me, their claimed reasons for that were speculative statements and bunch of random bullshit. Obviously, it was enough for getting the warrant. It is even scary, how powerful their imagination can be.
